The wind may still come sweepin' down the plains in Oklahoma, but the government won't necessarily clean out your pockets. As a state that encourages business development, Oklahoma keeps regulation minimal and makes licensing relatively simple. Although in the big city, people are no longer picnicking with their hampers, much of the state remains highly agrarian and produces wheat, cattle and dairy. It also has a large supply of black gold and produces lots of oil and natural gas.
In Oklahoma, governments at all levels – federal, state, county and city – need supplies and services. Governments do a significant amount of business with the private sector and can be fantastic clients and customers to businesses in many industries. Any business can apply to do business with any governmental body through a vendor registration process.
