The wind may still come sweepin' down the plains in Oklahoma, but the government won't necessarily clean out your pockets. As a state that encourages business development, Oklahoma keeps regulation minimal and makes licensing relatively simple. Although in the big city, people are no longer picnicking with their hampers, much of the state remains highly agrarian and produces wheat, cattle and dairy. It also has a large supply of black gold and produces lots of oil and natural gas.
In Oklahoma, retail businesses of all sorts including toy stores, clothing shops, photography businesses and general merchandisers need licenses and permits. In most cases, retail businesses take relatively few licenses – however being registered for all state and local taxes is important as is having any needed general business licenses.
